April is Riverside County's Innovation Month

 

The month of April will feature different innovative and entrepreneurial activities and events throughout the County. This month-long showcase has been coordinated by the County of Riverside Economic Development Agency, several cities, University of California, Riverside, Riverside Community College District, and related organizations to bring awareness to the many areas where advances in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship are happening every day in Riverside County.

The complexities of the CRISPR Patent Landscape- April 5th, 2017

 

This discussion will provide an overview of the CRISPR patent story to date to provide the relevant perspectives on how and why this battle over patent rights began.  The 2013 changes in patent law and how those changes will result in different issues for researchers and inventors going forward going forward will also be discussed.  Best practices to avoid such issues will be discussed, as well as the impact of these issues on researchers and the commercialization of inventions.   The complexities of practicing within the CRISPR patent landscape will also be discussed.

SBIR/STTR Workshop April 7th

TriTech SBDC and UC Riverside, Research and Economic Development have partnered to bring you a complimentary workshop on the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer Research (STTR) programs within the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Defense (DoD).

Entrepreneurs and faculty looking for funding to commercialize their research.

•   Hear from program managers at NSF, NIH and DOD about their specific programs and how to apply.
